Erchonia Cold Laser

Dr. Brent Roelofs at Apex Chiropractic Center offers cutting-edge healing technology with the Erchonia PL 5000, a low-level, non-invasive laser that speeds recovery, reduces pain and accelerates bone and wound healing. The first of its kind to be approved by the FDA, the PL 5000 has a proven track record for healing, recovery and performance, having been used by Jeff Spencer, Sports Chiropractor for Lance Armstrong and the U.S. Postal Team (now Team Discovery) throughout all seven of their Tour de France victories. A completely painless therapy, the low energy laser is applied to the affected body part, which may be sore or stiff. The laser is frequently used to treat burn victims, in which cases it assists with tissue healing and pain management.
The Erchonia Laser is specifically designed to address those descriptions in the information flow, or intelligence, in the body. For example, there could be interference in the flow of intelligence from the brain to points in the body that cause problems like numb hands, a tight lower back and knee pain.

PL 5000 is a Low Frequency Cold Laser. A treatment whereby a cold laser is utilized to treat chronic and acute pain. How does it work?
Photons, which are particles of electromagnetic energy, are emitted from the low power laser. These particles enter the tissues and are absorbed in the mitochondria, which are tiny structures within the substance of each individual cell. The energy is converted to chemical energy within the cell. The permeability of the cell membrane changes which in turn produces various physiological effects. These physiological changes affect a variety of cell types including macrophages, fibroblasts, endothelial cells and mast cells.
